We started the process of a full kitchen remodel for this English Country Styled home located in College Hill beginning with a full spectrum design plan.
The concept was to open some of the smaller rooms and narrow halls to larger spaces blending with the original design of the home.
We worked with many people to get the design plan underway.
Design with Ease
"Choosing a designer is very important.”
"We have worked with our designer for over 20 years. The premier "word of mouth" designers are highly sought after for projects like this.
The Demolition
After taking out the upstairs closet ect... opening some of the smaller rooms and narrow halls to larger spaces that fit with the original design of the home.
Phase 1 - Shaping the Space
Beautiful strategic beams and columns were installed to deal with load bearing issues of vaulting the ceiling above the big kitchen island which was once an upstairs bedroom closet. Plumbing , HVAC and electrical was then installed and re-routed. At this stage, we were starting to see the shape and magnitude of the square footage, natural light beaming in the new space. It was ready for cabinets.
“Beautiful strategic beams and columns were installed.”
Phase 2 - Bring in the goods
The cabinets were custom fit around perimeter wall elements and built in our local shop. Enamel finish was applied on site. 2 ½” quarter sawn, solid white oak was sourced and installed with on site sanding and finish.
Window and door openings were expanded, bringing in more outdoor light. Pella wood clad units were installed matching the exterior look of the whole house.
Final Stage
This major remodel of the space and structure had a finished look that gave it an appearance as if it was originally built this way.
